Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) was established in 1996 by the Planning Commission (Now Niti Aayog), Government of India along with the Indian Construction Industry as the apex organization to professionalize the functioning and monitor the construction activities. CIDC has done substantial work in promoting skill up-gradation of construction personnel. Human Resource Development is a major thrust area of CIDC. CIDC joined hands with the Central/Private Universities and SBTE to offer the B.Tech./B.Voc./ Diploma or Training programs in construction streams to increase employability of aspirants. CIDC is playing a vital role in creating a pool of well trained manpower from workers level to engineer’s level. I am having the privilege to work as overall in charge of the education program.
